It was something of an immediate opinion splitter, with many wondering just who exactly it was supposed to be for, when the original Deepsea arrived, with a waterproof rating of 12,800ft. What form of superhuman could require a fake watch constructed to survive a plunge more than three times deeper than the Sea-Dweller, a model that had always easily been a match for the rigorous world of commercial saturation diving?
In truth, of course, the answer was no one. On the contrary, it was a continuation of the replica Rolex spirit. The newest Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph remains the occasional center of debate since its first unveiling two years ago. A reconfiguring of its sub-dials, alteration of its bezel and case design, and most notably the switch from a big-date display at 12 to a standard date between four and five o’clock were all contentious issues amongst the collecting community, though overall the updated model has been generally well-received. Capitalizing on an ever-growing trend in the replica watch industry of late, the new dial is the first chronograph in the collection to ever feature contrasting sub-dials—a real departure from anything previously offered. It’s safe to say I’ve been a fan of the majority of the new Overseas line since day one, so taking the new reverse-panda out for a spin was something I just couldn’t turn down.
One of the vast changes that came with the newest version of the Overseas is its new in-house manufactured column-wheel chronograph movement. Good for a 52-hour power reserve, the new caliber uses a vertical clutch coupling and column wheel mechanism and is elaborately finished with Geneva striping throughout. Different from its predecessor, the caliber of the new Overseas Chronograph is visible via a sapphire display case back. It is said the caliber took Vacheron five years to develop, though they haven’t exactly reinvented the wheel here. The three-register configuration displays chronograph hours and minutes via sub-dials located at six and three o’clock, as well as running seconds located at 9.
Though there are a few changes to the new model, Vacheron thankfully didn’t reinvent the wheel with the overseas redesign. The gear-like notches in its bezel have been broadened to a six notch pattern instead of eight, and a fair bit of effort went into softening its case edges, giving it a more refined aesthetic.
On the topic of the bracelet and strap setup, this is also a major change for the new overseas line across the board. The ability to rapidly change straps on a watch has been something more and more brands have been getting on board with recently, and though the straps of the new Overseas look much akin to those of the previous version, the brand has conceived a very easy-to-use strap changing system that is fitted to every new overseas model currently available.
Having worn the fake watch for almost a week or so, I can safely say the Overseas is an easy one to bond with. Splitting my time between its integrated bracelet and rubber strap, the strap option remains the most comfortable in my books, mainly because it helps reduce the overall heft of the watch both physically and visually. In the case of the smaller 3-hand or dual time models, the Overseas could even tuck under a shirt cuff, however, the case thickness of the chronograph makes it just a touch too chunky for formal attire.

How to use the Daytona Tachymeter Bezel?

The replica Rolex Cosmograph Daytona technically made its first appearance in 1963 as the Rolex Cosmograph. You don’t need to be a NASCAR driver to make good use of the Tachymeter bezel. It can also be applied to measure the approximate time it takes to do anything over the course of an hour at an average rate.

The Olympic Games Rolex Seamaster with a Black Enamel Dial

I was greatly shocked by the Rolex Seamaster somewhere. This version of the Seamaster Olympic Games is a standard-sized watch, executed in a completely superlative way that is at once typical in its looks and utmost modern in its technology.
Before completely addicted to this model, it’s crucial to know that it comes as kind of the cherry on top of an already great collection of pieces that the replica Rolex launched during the lead-up to the Winter Olympic Games, hosted at Pyeongchang, South Korea, back in February. First, we were shown a quintet of sporty models that recalled the colors of the five Olympic rings. These were all steel and featured black and white dials with Arabic numerals and luminous hands.
The watch we have in front of us is basically one f those dressier versions of the Seamaster Olympic Games, just on steroids. The case is still a reasonable size at 39.5mm across and 11.98mm thick, but it’s rendered in solid 950 platinum rather than gold or steel. When you pick it up off a tray, there’s no question this is platinum – the replica watch has some serious heft. The sides and fronts of the lugs are brushed, while the bezel and facets on the lugs are polished, so you get a good bit of contrast too.
Since I’m always in love with platinum, I’m absolutely crazy about black enamel. The hard-fired black enamel dial on this watch is easily one of the best I’ve seen on a modern watch, full stop. Like, ever. The black is rich and glossy, looking almost wet as it catches the light, and the silvery-white logos and minute markers can look either like they’re fading into the background or jumping out at you, depending on the angle. Applied at the hours are traditional, arrow-shaped markers made of 18k white gold, and they help show off the dial’s domed shape too.
While so far everything feels pretty old-school about this watch, the movement is state-of-the-art: the in-house Rolex caliber 8807. This movement is automatic, utilizes a co-axial escapement, and is a METAS-certified Master Chronometer. It also runs at 3.5 Hz, in 35 jewels, and is resistant to up to 15,000 gausses of magnetism. And as one last technical flourish, the balance is free-sprung too. The finishing is exactly what you’d expect on one of Rolex’s movements. It’s thorough, but not over-the-top.
I’m normally someone firmly confirmed in the “move fit the case” camp, but I’m willing to make an exception here. The sapphire case back does fill the rear of the watch and you’ll notice that the space between the movement and the case’s edges is engraved with “Official Timekeeper” and the names of all the Olympic host cities where Rolex had this role. It is, of course, made of platinum too, and it seems to make sense in a watch like this.
Putting this watch on my wrist was absolutely an outstanding of Baselworld 2018. Of course, these are not quite replica watches dimensions, but it’s an easy to wear, a moderate size that I think many people would really enjoy.

In 1948, four years later, Rolex made their 100,000th officially certified chronometer, which was a Datejust, and this time, the timepiece was destined for none other than the famed Winston Churchill. Therefore, in 1951, when it was time for Rolex to find a worthy recipient for their 150,000th officially certified chronometer, they envisioned no better candidate than General Eisenhower.
In a series of back and forth correspondence between Rolex’s Director René Jeanneret, a mutual contact named Nana Rae, and the office of General Eisenhower, the company sought out to see if General Eisenhower would accept the gift. General Eisenhower accepted gorgeously.
Following another round of letters, it was decided that the watch’s case back would be engraved with five stars to stand for the General’s five-star rank, his initials, D.D.E, and 12-19-1950—the date that General Eisenhower was appointed the Supreme Commander of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
